The Shift Key
Selecting text using the keyboard

The Shift key is predominantly used to capital words. However, when you hold the Shift key and move the cursor, you are selecting text. 

If you incorporate the Ctrl key, the combination causes the mouse to move by specific increments. and selects text while moving.

one paragraph - Up/Down

Left margin
